About This

• ENGINEERED PRIMER BUILT FOR MAXIMUM ADHESION – Primo Strato is the essential first step for professional Venetian plaster finishes. Designed to create a coarse, grippy surface that acts like mechanical Velcro, it ensures strong bonding between the substrate and the first coat of lime plaster for long-lasting architectural durability.
• MINERAL-BASED LIME AND QUARTZ FORMULA DESIGNED FOR PERFORMANCE – Made with a blend of crushed marble, lime, and quartz aggregates, Primo Strato creates the ideal textured base layer for decorative lime plasters including Grassello, Marmorino, and other Venetian finishes. The mineral composition improves adhesion while maintaining the breathable properties of traditional lime systems.
• TEXTURED BASE COAT IDEAL FOR SMOOTH OR LOW-POROSITY SURFACES – When applied to drywall, painted surfaces, cement board, or other smooth substrates, Primo Strato transforms the surface into a plaster-ready foundation. The textured finish helps subsequent plaster coats grip properly, reducing the risk of delamination or uneven application.
• FAST AND EFFICIENT APPLICATION WITH STANDARD PAINT TOOLS – Primo Strato is water-based and easy to apply using a roller or brush, making it simple to prepare walls before Venetian plaster installation. One coat is typically all that is needed to create the proper bonding surface for professional decorative finishes.
• MADE IN ITALY FOR AUTHENTIC ARCHITECTURAL FINISHES – Crafted in Italy as part of the VIOLANTE lime plaster system, Primo Strato is designed to work seamlessly with traditional Venetian plaster techniques used by artisans and designers worldwide. The result is a reliable foundation that supports durable, high-end lime plaster finishes for both residential and commercial interiors.
